On March 19, Du Peng, Dean of School of Population and Health, Renmin University of China, led a team to visit Oujiang Lab. Song Weihong, academician of Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and director of Oujiang Laboratory, received the guests and hosted a discussion. Oujiang laboratory, Wenzhou Medical University Institute of geriatrics relevant person in charge to participate in the symposium.

At the symposium, Song Weihong expressed warm welcome to Du Peng and his party and introduced in detail the development history of the laboratory, talent attraction and the research progress of early diagnosis and treatment of cognitive dysfunction in old age. He said, oujiang laboratory in geriatrics scientific research advantage is outstanding, both sides in the study, research, medical, use of the integration of complementary relationship, hope that the next step can be with renmin university of china in the postgraduate joint training, the construction of joint research centers and so on to carry out substantive cooperation. Afterwards, Oujiang Laboratory introduced the overall situation of “China Healthy Aging Prevention and Control of Alzheimer's Disease Research Program” (HAPCAD for short). Both sides also had a full discussion on the in-depth cooperation based on HAPCAD.

Du Peng introduced in detail the development overview of the School of Population and Health of Renmin University of China and the construction of the disciplines of gerontology and geriatrics. He said that Oujiang Laboratory, as the research highland of Alzheimer's disease in China, has rich practical experience and research advantages in cognitive screening of community elderly population, universal health cognitive census, and construction of longevity elderly cohort, and Renmin University of China has rich experience in academic research to promote policy transformation. It is hoped that in the future, both sides can establish an all-round and multi-level cooperative relationship in the construction of new medical science, talent training, exchange of scientific and technological talents, and the joint establishment of postdoctoral research stations, etc., so as to provide scientific basis and intellectual support for the government's decision-making.

This visit is an important starting point for Oujiang Laboratory and Renmin University of China to establish a comprehensive cooperative relationship, laying a good start for both sides to deepen cooperation and exchange.
